Na motivy hry Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time vzniká i film, který by měl do kin dorazit v květnu letošního roku. Režisérem snímku je Mike Newell (Harry Potter a Ohnivý pohár, Krycí jméno Donnie Brasco), hlavního hrdinu ztvární Jake Gyllenhaal – (Zkrocená hora, Zodiac, Mariňák), princeznu Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, RocknRolla, Piráti na vlnách) a hlavního záporáka Ben Kingsley (Štvanec IRA, Prokletý ostrov, Schindlerův seznam, A.I. Umělá inteligence). Obsazení i režie nevypadá vůbec špatně, tak jen doufejme, že The Sands of Time se stane výjimkou mezi filmy, které vznikly na motiv hry, a nebude se jednat o propadák jako např. Max Payne.
